Community Support

Working with Indigenous Communities

We understand that there are unique challenges associated with serving indigenous communities. The Seeking Help Project is committed to enhancing capacity for indigenous service providers by embracing cultural teachings and understanding important issues such as colonization, the 60’s scoop, Intergenerational trauma and the effects of residential schools. We understand that indigenous populations experience unique challenges that contribute to heightened rates of addiction and mental health problems and that indigenous service providers are not immune from these issues.  The project will work with indigenous leaders, knowledge keepers, healers and elders to determine the best ways to serve indigenous communities.

If you are an indigenous person and need help finding indigenous support or if you’re an indigenous organization and wish to partner with the project, please contact us.
